It's helpful to see where someone comes from in order to see where they're going...

... and Mat Hunt's three decade path started in the electronic media trenches... includes a hands-on journey through mass, corporate and legal communications... and continues to evolve with technology.

The fascination with electronic media began in high school. Hunt got a job at his home-town's AM/FM radio station, where he worked for six years through college and beyond. There he answered the door and the phone, ripped & read the wire service news, gathered and wrote local news, played the records (yes... those ancient round scratchy things with a hole in the middle, onto which you placed a tone arm with a needle as it rotated before your very eyes), recorded the commercials (many of which he sold), read the meters, switched the transmitter on and off, programmed the FM station's automation, emptied the trash and tried to fix whatever broke. By now you can just guess who made the coffee...

All this was a wonderful way to learn to meet deadlines, keep up with a wide range of simultaneous needs, and have the understanding of audio become deeply ingrained.

Then.... WFBC Radio & Television: GSP's Powerhouse NBC Affiliate in the Nation's 35th Market:

News Reporter and Anchor
6 & 11 Weather Anchor
Producer/Reporter/Editor of Camera 4 Feature
Documentary Producer/Reporter/Editor
Producer/Writer/Editor of The Furman Singers' Finest Hour (England, Scotland & Wales)

With the belief that business, industry and the professions could benefit from this new technology, Mat left the station, and in 1982, established Huntridge Video Productions, Inc. Back then, "VCR" was a new term to most people but "doing the little things well" wasn't. Standards were set, a deadline ethic was established... and there were more opportunities to "think things through" for business and industrial customers. Clients learned that what they shot with their home video units was ineffective in the corporate world, and the high level of broadcast experience provided by Huntridge was more than cost effective.

There have been a lot of changes in electronic media over three decades, but even as Huntridge has evolved into working exclusively for the Legal Profession, the basics remain the same:

Audio is the foundation for what you see...
Many things have to happen at the same time...
The best way to meet a deadline is to do your homework and get it right the first time...
and WHAT WE DO TRULY MATTERS TO SOMEBODY.

Anybody can buy or rent equipment. People, experience and commitment to excellence makes the difference.
